I have a reservation for my two daughters at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disneyland next week. One of my daughters isn’t “into” princesses, but loves Star Wars. She wants to wear her Jedi costume to the park. Would she be able to get a “Rey” hairstyle?

    Hello, Kristin!

Welcome to planDisney. I am excited that your daughters will experience the magic of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique soon! My kids cherish being treated like royalty during these special makeovers.

I love Rey's hairstyle too! It’s such a fun, intergalactic look. Sadly, during my last trip to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, they didn’t have an option for that hairstyle. They did have four other styles, though! The Royal Braid was a bun with a colorful braid, and Enchanted was a bun with a choice of a sparkly tiara or fancy bow. Pixie Magic had a colorful ponytail extension with a cute flower halo, and Fantasy was a bun topped with a curly hair piece and a flower halo.

I'm sorry they didn't have Rey's hairstyle during my visit, but I hope one of these works for your daughter! Perhaps she could choose one of the hairstyles and skip the accessories. Keep in mind that hairstyle options and accessories are subject to change, and they may have different choices when you arrive. You can also speak to the Fairy Godmother's Apprentice when checking in to see if they have other options that would work better for your daughter.

No matter which hairstyle your daughter picks, she’s welcome to bring her own outfit for the appointment (as long as it abides by the Dress Code)! I usually buy royal outfits for my kids in advance and store them in a rented locker for the day until it’s time for their makeovers. That way, they can get dressed ahead of time and show up ready to go with the exact outfit they want.

Make sure to take photos of your daughters after their royal makeovers! Sleeping Beauty Castle, "it's a small world," and Mad Tea Party make cute backdrops. You can also look for a Disney PhotoPass Photographer on the Disneyland app. Select the teardrop-shaped icon at the bottom of the home screen, and then choose "Photo Pass" from the drop-down menu at the top of the map.

Kristin, I know this was not quite the news you were looking for, but I hope your daughter finds a hairstyle that makes her happy. Please contact planDisney again if you have additional questions.
