    I have a reservation on nov 12 and Dec 2 but I'm interested in purchasing an imagine magic key on nov 6, will this effect my reservations? Will it cancel both of them or one of them if I use one of the tickets as a down payment?

    Hi there, Melody, and welcome back to planDisney!

    It's wonderful to hear from you again and we certainly appreciate that you brought another question to us. How exciting to see that you're thinking about purchasing a Magic Key Pass! As a Magic Key Holder since the program first began, I've been very happy with the perks and discounts that I get. Disney has done a great job of making us feel valued and offering special merchandise and opportunities only for Magic Key Holders.

    Have you had a chance to read the Magic Key Buying Guide yet? There's a lot of good information contained there that will help prepare you for your purchase. It sounds like you have some choices to think about, so I'd be happy to go over some details with you.

    • Only one ticket may be used as an upgrade to a Magic Key Pass. The reservation attached to that ticket will be cancelled once that ticket is upgraded. Therefore, you'll need to make a new reservation on your Magic Key Pass. Any reservations attached to separate tickets on your account will remain intact.
    • Wholly unused, unexpired tickets may only be upgraded in person at the Disneyland Resort Main Entrance Ticket Booth while new Magic Keys are on sale. Since you're wanting the Imagine Magic Key, I'm guessing you are a Southern California Resident, so hopefully you'll be able to make your way there once the sales window starts.
    • Please note that December 2, 2024 is a blockout date for the Imagine Magic Key, so ideally, you'd use your November 12, 2024 ticket as the upgrade ticket.

    If you decide to use the online queue to purchase your new Magic Key Pass, both your existing tickets and reservations will remain unchanged. Remember that you have a whole year in which to activate your Magic Key Pass!

    On the other hand, if you do get a Magic Key for your November 12, 2024 visit, you have a chance to experience Tiana's Bayou Adventure a few days early during their Magic Key Preview! And don't forget that they're handing out a special keepsake poster (while supplies last) only for Magic Key Holders near the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge entrance at Fantasyland that day.
