A hearty salute to you from all of us at planDisney, Stephen!
Welcome and thanks for coming to us with your question! What a wonderful way to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of our country with a visit to the Disneyland Resort! Walt Disney was a proud
patriot and built his Park with this mind. In fact, one of his heroes was Abraham Lincoln and he built the attraction
Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, which survives to this day, and included this experience free of charge (they were using A through E Ticket Books back then).
Disney has not yet announced specific plans for July 4th, but we can assume from last year that
4th of July fireworks will be on display that night, weather permitting. There is indeed a special
4th of July Dining Package at the Plaza Inn that includes reserved viewing of the fireworks that night! At this time, it appears that reservations have been filled, but I would recommend that you keep checking availability as reservations can open up.
I recommend that you follow the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest news as your visit nears! Last year, they invited
military bands to come play alongside the Disneyland Resort Band and guests got to enjoy a diverse mix of genres from ceremonial to jazz and rock. Also, the daily Flag Retreat Ceremony is especially moving on July 4th as Disneyland Park honors current and past members of the military.
Fun Fact: Another very patriotic attraction was
America Sings, which took over the Carousel of Progress. After it closed on April 10, 1988, many of the animatronics used in this attraction found their way into Splash Mountain, which recently closed to be re-imagined into
Tiana's Bayou Adventure!
Stephen, I hope that this response was helpful for you and that you have a wonderful visit to the Happiest Place on Earth this July! If there is anything else that we at planDisney can do for you, please reach out to us again anytime!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
