I want to make a reservation for my husband to make a light saber the day we are at Hollywood Studios, however I want it to be a surprise. Do I make the reservation in his name? I don’t want him to get alerted in our plans on the app.

Bright suns, Nicole, and welcome to a panel far, far away! At planDisney, we enjoy helping guests harness the Force to have the most fabulous Walt Disney World Resort vacations in the galaxy. What a thoughtful spouse you are! Let's talk about gifting an experience your husband will treasure.

Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge lets guests choose their own paths by designing and building a lightsaber. This covert workshop experience is one of the most unique at the theme parks, so I know your husband will relish every moment!

I spoke to a rebel Cast Member who said your best bet is to call the Tours & Recreation line for assistance if you want to keep the booking a secret. They can see your account information and determine how you're linked to your husband. In the meantime, I have a couple of options to try.

If your husband has his own MyDisney account linked to yours, you can go into your Family & Friends list and select "Settings" by his name. Toggle off "Allow to view all plans." Your husband will still see the plans you share, such as dining, but he won't see the plans you have without him. When you make the Savi's Workshop reservation in your name, he shouldn't see it in his account or mobile app.

But if you're set up to manage your husband's plans, you'll need to call in to book the Savi's Workshop experience. The Cast Member can remove the booking information from your account but will give you a confirmation number to show when you check in at the shop. Also, please bring the credit card you used to book the experience and a photo ID.

So that you know, the padawan building the lightsaber can be accompanied by a guest observer. I think this would be an incredible experience to share. While only one guest can assemble the lightsaber, I'm sure your husband will welcome your input during the design process. The couple that builds lightsabers together rules the universe!

My favorite caffeinated pick-me-up is at Kat Saka's Kettle. After working up an appetite by building your weapon, grab a Cold Brew Black Caf and soak in the sights and sounds of Black Spire Outpost. My husband and I think this is the most immersive land in all the Disney parks.

Nicole, I hope you jump to lightspeed as quickly as Chewie on your visit. Please stop by planDisney anytime. Till the spire!

May the Force be with you,
    Elaine
