I want to make a reservation at the Grand Floridian afternoon tea time. I was wondering if it was suited more for adults or will my five year old son be welcome? What is the dress code?

    Hi Jennifer,

I love the Garden View Tea Room at the Grand Floridian. It just feels so relaxed and civilized.

There is no specific dress code at the Tea Room. You're welcome to visit in shorts and tee shirts if you'd like. My older daughters like to feel fancy and wear sundresses or similar when we dine there, but this is by no means a requirement.

Children are welcome at the tea room. There are special menu items designed for kids. They can get tiny sandwiches and hot chocolate, which are just lovely. I began bringing my own kids to the Tea Room when they were about four years old. While children of any age are welcome, you should be aware this venue does serve lots of hot tea in lots of china tea pots. If your son is in a running around phase, then the Tea Room might be a bit uncomfortable for him. But if he's able to sit still for about 45 minutes or so, then you could certainly introduce him to this experience.
