Hi there, Ed! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with such a great planning question.
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is always a beautiful Resort, but with its stunning decorations and crackling fireplaces, it is nothing short of pure magic during the holidays. This Resort's serenity, oh-so-fun pools, fantastic dining options and location near Magic Kingdom make it the perfect, peaceful home away from home right in the middle of the magic. You can have a wonderful vacation here without ever even leaving your Resort! Of course, you will want to leave the Resort to head to the parks, so let's talk transportation.
Copper Creek is a short, scenic boat ride away from Magic Kingdom, so you will be able to take the
boat to and from your Resort and Magic Kingdom. Typically, the boats begin running 30 minutes before park opening, but schedules can change, so I suggest asking a Cast Member once you arrive. My family and I like to arrive at Magic Kingdom early, so early that one time, we were headed over to the park before the boats began running. But Hakuna Matata! It means "no worries." We were able to catch a bus right over to Magic Kingdom for early morning photos and coffee.
Speaking of the busses, you will be able to take a bus from Copper Creek to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. They typically begin running an hour before park opening and arrive every 20 minutes or so. And the best part? The Disney
Resort Transportation is complimentary! I love leaving my car and reality behind and diving right into the magic.
Ed, did you know that you can see when your next bus will arrive on your My Disney Experience app? Once you've checked into your Resort, you'll be able to log into your app, tap the three-line menu icon at the bottom, tap "Hotel Reservations" and then "See Bus Times." This feature is so great, because once your travel party is ready for the day, you can see if you have to rush them out of the room or if you have time to grab a cup of coffee. My vote is always coffee first.
I hope this helps, Ed, and I hope you have the most magical and memorable holiday vacation. I just know you will. Please feel free to stop by any time with any questions you may have along the way.
You've got a friend in me,
Mandy
