I got a reservation for Coral Reef Restaurant. I thought it would be nice to sit and take masks off and my kids would enjoy the atmosphere. But they won’t eat anything on the menu. Are they going to be required to order food or can they just sit with us?

Hello again, Tara! Welcome back to planDisney!

You are even closer to your Walt Disney World Resort vacation than you were the last time we spoke! As you put the final planning touches on your upcoming visit and start packing your bags, make sure to check out this list of top items to bring with you that my fellow planDisney Panelists put together. There are a lot of great tips in there!

My little ones are some of the pickiest eaters around. It is one of the reasons we love visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth so much ... the Cast Members are always very understanding! My suggestion is to do what we always plan for and take food that your kids will eat with you. We will either stop by a Quick-Service location and grab a hotdog or other meal for the kids, or we may even stop by and get a Mickey-shaped pretzel from a cart nearby (it is vacation after all!) for them to munch on at the restaurant. Not only does this give everyone something to eat to avoid a "hangry" meltdown later, but it creates a more peaceful dinner for parents.

The only time this hasn't work for us is at Character Dining. At those locations, you are paying for the experience of Characters so everyone in the party that is aged 3 and up will be charged whether they eat or not. This is why we usually stick to breakfast when we plan Character Dining because there is always something that my kids will eat then!

I hope this helps, Tara! Please visit us again with any other last-minute planning questions.
