Hey there, hi there, ho there, Amber! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney!
Dining at
Chef Mickey's at
Disney's Contemporary Resort is a right of passage for any Walt Disney World fan. Many families, including my own, make this a tradition on every trip. I tear up every time I see my teenage boys waving their napkins in the air with Mickey and his pals!
As you're already aware, Chef Mickey's has had to make several
modifications during these times of social distancing; most noticeably is that dining is just limited to breakfast for now, and the Fab Five is taking a break from their hosting duties (hopefully, Mickey is getting some much-needed R & R time). Also, instead of the traditional buffet stations, the meal is now served family-style, and food is brought to the table from which guests can help themselves. Cast members deliver skillets of fan favorites, such as Mickey Waffles and french toast sticks, and proteins like eggs, sausage, ham, and bacon. And luckily, it is still "all you care to enjoy," so if you want more of a particular item, all you need to do is ask. This is great news to someone like me since I can almost eat my weight in tater tots and cheesy potato casserole (Disney calories don't count, right?). The menu has been trimmed down a bit, so take a look at the Walt Disney World website before your trip. Disney has also temporarily changed the set price of the breakfast to reflect this modified experience.
Mickey and I hope you have a magical trip next month, Amber! See ya' real soon!
