Hi, I have a reservation booked for 9:15am at Chef Mickeys. We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside and was wondering what time I should leave in the morning to make this reservation on time. I will be driving and parking at the MK parking lot first.

    Hi Michelle,

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question! Breakfast at Chef Mickey's is a wonderful start to a magical day.

Because you are driving, you do have the option to park for free (for up to 2 hours) at Disney's Contemporary Resort where the restaurant is located. However, if you plan to go straight to the parks after you eat, you've got the right idea by parking in the Magic Kingdom parking lot. As a Disney Resort Hotel Guest, parking is free.

I would allow an hour to 90 minutes of travel time when driving from Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside to the Magic Kingdom parking lot to give yourself time to park and transfer to Resort Monorail for Disney's Contemporary Resort. This is a generous estimate, but I'd rather be early than stress about not making it to my reservation on time!

One final word of caution from someone who learned the hard way. If you plan to use your vehicle's GPS system for directions, make sure you get directions for the Magic Kingdom parking lot and not Magic Kingdom park or you will be doing a lot of extra driving!

Wishing you a wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation, Michelle. Eat a Mickey waffle for me!
