Hi Barbara,
It's nice to see you stopping by planDisney with a great question!
The
Animation Experience at Conservation Station at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park is one of our must-do activities. At this time, it does not require a reservation. There is a daily schedule posted. Click on the
link on the web page and then click on the calendar to view all times for the date of your visit. When you get to the theme park, you can also check the times.
Since you do have to board the train to get to Conservation Station, I would give yourself 30-40 minutes to board the train and get there. If you arrive and have a few minutes to spare, spend some time walking around
Conservation Station. One day we were able to see an animal getting treated in the Veterinary Treatment Room. When you sit down for your lesson, just follow the instructor! One of my girls is an artist, so we always admire her drawings. I have to say, however, the lessons are fantastic so the rest of us have done pretty well too.
As you continue to plan for your visit, I hope you have considered doing one of the
Enchanting Extras Collection activities. The
Caring for Giants and
Up Close with Rhinos tours were quite interesting. Our guides were knowledgeable and the timing of the experiences was just perfect. Both of these experiences allowed us to learn more about the work of Disney with conservation.
Barbara, as you plan, I do hope you go to see the
Festival of the Lion King show. It is one of our favorite shows. We make a point to see it on every visit. The performers are all fantastic!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
