Moms. We have res at Poly in mid Nov. I've read reviews that there are no umbrellas poolside to protect from the sun. Is this true? traveling with 16 yo, 4 yo & 9 mth old. We are planning a pool day weather permitting. Your thoughts? Thank you!

Hi, Melissa!  You will find a few tables with umbrellas available near the main pool area at the Polynesian, but pool side, you are going to find only lounge chairs.  The areas closest to the pools do not have umbrellas.

There are small pop up tents that you can use for the baby (and the four year old may even squeeze in) if they are sitting by the pool.  They don't take up much room, and you can find them online or even at a local baby supply store.  They fold easily, too, so you can transport them on your vacation.

The best thing to do is apply and reapply lots of sun screen, make sure the kids have hats on - especially the little one, and invest in some sun blocking clothing, like surf shirts.  The kids can get them wet, but they offer added protection from the sun.

Don't let that Florida sun deceive you, either.  Be prepared on even a cloudy day.  It never fails that even on the cloudiest day, some ray of sunshine finds my pale children, and we end up with a sunburn if we aren't protected.

    Have a wonderful time!
