Bright suns, Ian! Welcome to planDisney!
One of the most iconic Star Wars scenes is from "
A New Hope" when Obi-Wan and Luke wander into Mos Eisley's. While no alien bands welcomed me when I visited
Oga's Cantina in
Disney's Hollywood Studios, DJ R-3X (also known as DJ Rex) did a terrific job of spinning tunes, and he keeps the atmosphere lively and fun for kids and adults alike. Luckily, Greedo is nowhere to be seen in this watering hole or anywhere on planet Batuu!
I recently made my
dining reservations for my upcoming Halloween trip, and I was excited to be able to snag a mid-day ADR at Oga's for my family of four. In fact, there were several times to choose from that day. I strongly suggest logging on to your
My Disney Experience account by 5:45 AM EST, and having your finger ready as soon as the clock strikes 6:00 (make sure to brew a pot of extra strong coffee, since this will be 5:00 AM your time)! Looking at your arrival dates, your magical 60-day mark will be October 16. When I make my dining reservations, I like to select them in order of difficulty instead of chronological order. Since Oga's Cantina is extremely popular (and it has limited capacity), I would book this one first and then fill in the dining for the rest of your trip. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Sometimes spots will open up, so I check the Walt Disney World website often for hard to get reservations. I also sometimes use the help of a reservation finder tool; the Touring Plans website has one that I like, and they charge a small subscription fee.
I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that these tricks help, Ian! Hopefully, you can celebrate with a toast and my favorite drink, the Bespin Fizz. May the Force be with you!
