Hi again, Charlene! I know that you are so excited for your Disney Cruise Line voyage along the
California Coast next year. Isn't it nice to have it booked so early so that you have plenty of time to plan and explore different options?
Disney Cruise Line certainly offers some amazing Port Adventures in every port of call that the ships visit, but guests are not required to book a Port Adventure through them or even book one at all. Sometimes we opt to simply stay onboard the ship and enjoy the pool deck when it's less crowded. Other times, we've ventured off on our own in port to explore. But most times I feel best when we book a Disney Port Adventure because I know that they take care of all the details and we won't be left behind should the adventure run into an unexpected delay in port when the ship is set to go. Plus, we've had the best experiences on those adventures!
Disney switches up and adds new
Port Adventures all the time, so you never know. By the time you get to book your Port Adventures, you may find that they've added one that includes both Muir Woods and a city tour of San Francisco, so keep an eye on that, especially around 120 days prior to your cruise, when Platinum Castaway Club Members will begin booking their adventures. They should have that year's adventures finalized by then.
If you find that the one you'd like still isn't offered, go ahead and book with another company in San Francisco. Just be very cautious about timing and plan to be back at the port with plenty of time to spare before All Aboard so you don't accidentally miss the boat!
No matter what adventure you choose, you're in for a magical experience with this cruise, Charlene!
Happy planning!
Marcy
