Are requests for certain buildings generally granted? We will be there the end of Jan 2012, I was curious if we may have a better chance since it will be a slower time.

Hi, Crystal! Yes, Walt Disney World tries to please Guests whenever possible.  You are correct that since you are traveling during a slower time they will be more likely to accommodate your request.  There are a few things you can do to help this process along, too.  If your request is not already noted on your reservation, I would call and do that TODAY.  Next, I would also call or fax in my request to the Resort seven to ten days in advance of my arrival.  This is when they are doing room assignments.  There are only four room request choices when you do online check-in.  They are for 1.) ground floor, 2.) near transportation, 3.) a child's Pack 'n Play Playard, or 4.) to add a refrigerator. Since you are requesting something besides one of those four, I would definitely check-in with a Cast Member upon arrival to try to secure the room I want.  Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
