Hiya Kelly!
It’s so great to see you again at planDisney!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is my absolute favorite place in the world. The stunning Victorian building is the epitome of elegance and because it is a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, it feels warm and inviting. I find the Resort hotel to be brilliant especially when it comes to service. And with different
means of transportation to and from
Magic Kingdom Park, it’s hard to beat staying at
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa!
Kelly, I’m happy to tell you that you’re able to make room requests during the
Online Resort Check-In process. As you begin checking in online, it will ask you for your contact information, to place a credit card on file to allow for room charges or making payments for the Resort hotel, enter an account PIN, which is a 4-digit number used if you’d like to charge things to your MagicBand, and then finally, to add your Room Location Requests. This is where you will be able to enter that you would prefer a room closer to the pool. Although room requests are not guaranteed, I know Cast Members try their best to be accommodating.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has two pools, one that is located in between the Main Building and
The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, called The Beach Pool. The Beach Pool is a lot of fun with its 181-foot-long slide, cascading waterfalls, and the zero-depth entryway. If you would prefer a quieter, relaxed atmosphere, you will enjoy the Courtyard Pool. Complimentary towels and lifejackets are available at The Captain’s Shipyard.
I have stayed both in Main Building of the Resort hotel and several Outer Buildings and find both the Main Building and Big Pine Key building to be closest to The Beach Pool. Both are a short walk to the pool, usually taking my family less than 5 minutes to reach our destination. You can find a
map of the grounds here.
Kelly, I hope you and your family have a grand time making a splash!
