Emma,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
My family has enjoyed renting the pool
cabanas at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa a few times, and it has made a great pool day into a vacation memory that will last forever!
When we arrived, they had already lined up some loungers for us, but when we asked for another the attendant was more than happy to bring one over for us and set it up. There is no official "Yes we will do that" statement, but you will find that these Cast Members will go out of their way to make your stay special. The real key here is that they can't give you so many more that you start to infringe on the space of your cabana neighbors.
As for the fruit platter and the snack basket, those are part of the amenities provided, though I checked, and they do only provide them for cabana rentals made in advance since they have to prepare them. I will confess, before arriving I did not care about that perk, but in hindsight, it was a fantastic addition. We nibble away at grapes, bananas, and other selections throughout the day. It was great to have.
The snack basket was nice too, but again it only comes if advance reservations are made. What I like, however, was when our attendant checked us in and asked about our beverage preferences. He reset the refrigerator with more of what we preferred, replacing some of the choices we would not have consumed. Again, this is not guaranteed, but I expect you will be more than happy with the customer service.
So no, the fruit and snacks are not an added charge and help with chairs and loungers is happily offered, in my experience.
BONUS TIP #1Did you know that Disney Resort Hotels heat their resort pools year-round to around 82 degrees (about 28 degrees Celsius)? While they certainly do not reach hot tub temperatures, the added warmth usually is enough to take the chill out of the water, even on a cold day.
BONUS TIP #2The attendants will take your order for beverages or food from the nearby
Beaches Pool Bar & Grill. You do have to pay for those orders, but how nice is it to have lunch in your cabana?
