How do I replace the power cells in my Savi‘s Workshop lightsaber?

Greetings, Joerg, and may the Force be with you!

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for coming to us with your inquiry. I'd be happy to help a fellow Jedi repair their lightsaber. After all, it is "an elegant weapon for a more civilized age." We wouldn't want you to be caught defenseless while navigating the marketplace on Batuu, so let's replace those power cells!

In order to access the batteries, you'll have to unscrew the bottom end cap of your lightsaber. The bottom portion of the pommel should unscrew counterclockwise. This will reveal the black battery pack within. Push the battery pack in a bit, then gently twist it counterclockwise to release it and remove it from the lightsaber. You'll need a small screwdriver to loosen and remove the side panel from the pack. Once removed, this will reveal the three AAA batteries which you can then replace. Just reverse these steps to re-assemble your lightsaber and you should be good to go!

I hope you had a wonderful experience at Savi's Workshop during your time at Galaxy's Edge! Every time I visit, I always make sure to stop by Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities to admire the legacy lightsabers on sale! It's so easy to spend your hard earned credits on some awesome Star Wars collectibles

Joerg, I hope you found that helpful and that you are able to service your lightsaber successfully. With a little more tinkering, you'll soon be able to change out that kyber crystal as well! If you need anything else from us here at planDisney, please feel free to reach out again anytime!

    May the Spires Keep You!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
