I am renting a car for my trip, how many hours prior to our domestic flight should we leave our Disney Springs Hotel? We are trying to get a park day in, which is possible as we have a 7 pm flight. What would you advise?

    Hi Brittany,
Thanks for joining us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

Now it's time to say goodbye...leaving is always the worst part of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, isn't it?

I am a Central Florida local and Orlando International Airport (also known as MCO) is my home airport.  I recommend giving yourself thirty minutes to an hour for traffic, plus two to three hours for dropping off your rental car, checking any luggage you may have, airline check-in, security, taking the tram to your terminal, and finding your airport gate.  If you have a service such as Clear or TSA Pre-check, you can often cut that time by a bit but I'm always a "better safe than sorry" type and arrive early so I don't miss my flight.  Security lines at MCO can be lengthy depending on the time of day; the official Orlando Airport website gives an estimate of security wait line times.

Looking for ways to beat the Goodbye Mickey Blues? Book another trip! Bring back some treats and snacks to have at home to remind you of the fantastic vacation you had; view your PhotoPass photos and enjoy some laughs.

Brittany, please come back and visit us again with any additional questions.

    Best Wishes,
    Amy S.
