We will be renting a car when we reach Orlando. Our granddaughters are 8 & 4. We will be bringing the 4 year old's car seat. Does the 8 year old need one by law in Florida? She no longer needs one in her home state. Thanks for all your help!!

    Hi Debbie,

According to statehighwaysafety.org, Florida law states that car seats or boosters are required for children under the age of six. There is no requirement that an 8-year-old travel in a car seat.

If you have last minute concerns, you can confirm this with your rental agency. If you prefer, most auto rental agencies also rent auto booster seats.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
