Ahoy there, Aimee!
I'm so happy you've navigated your way back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with another planning question about your upcoming journey with Disney Cruise Line. Can you believe the cast and crew will be welcoming your family aboard in just a few weeks? You'll be enjoying your first magnificent sunset over the sea before you know it!
Aimee, you'll want to claim your luggage at the carousel after landing at the Orlando Airport. Direct luggage transport is reserved for Guests utilizing
Disney Cruise Line ground transportation. Since you are driving yourself to the port, you'll want to tag you bags with the luggage tags once you've arrived in Orlando. The ride over to the port is about an hour depending on traffic, and it's smart to plan ahead for the tolls by bringing some small bills and change. I remember spending around $5.00 to $6.00 each way. If you are renting the car just to get to the ship, I suggest dropping your luggage and your family at the port before you return the car because it will save you the hassle of having to move luggage twice. When you arrive at Disney's terminal at
Port Canaveral, pull up to the curb to drop your family and bags with a porter (don't forget a few dollars to tip your porter). If you are keeping the car, your family can either stay in the car after dropping the luggage and walk over from the adjacent parking deck or go ahead through security inside. If you decide to split up to return the car, all family members must be present to check-in at the terminal.
I hope this helps, Aimee! If you have any other last minute questions, please reach back out. If not, get ready to float away to paradise on the spectacular Disney Dream!
