Should I rent a stroller or bring my own umbrella for a 21 month old in a cast and I have a 6 year old?

The year my youngest turned six was the first year we didn't use strollers at all for them at WDW. But with your toddler, you (especially one in a cast) you will absolutely need a stroller in the parks. Especially at Epcot and the Animal Kingdom there is A LOT of walking. If you have an umbrella stroller at home, I would absolutely bring it to WDW.

There are a few reason why I suggest bringing your own stroller. First, the rental strollers can only be used in the theme parks. Once you leave a park, you leave the stroller there. I have found that with a hot, sleepy toddler, even the walk from the park to the bus stop can be a challenge. Plus, many of the WDW resorts are HUGE. At some of them there could easily be a 7 minute walk just to get from your room to the food court. Again, this is quite a distance when you're in a hurry and waiting for a little one to walk along with you or even worse when you're trying to carry the child and the diaper bag, etc.

Second, the rental strollers are expensive. Prices do change, but in February 2008, stroller rentals were $10.00 per day for a single. This adds up quickly! If you didn't want to rent a stroller at WDW, you could actually buy one there. I happen to be at WDW on vacation right now, I have seen very sturdy and comfortable looking strollers for sale in all the resort gift shops for about $45.00 (again, prices do change from time to time).

    Hope this helps.
