Ahoy, Matthew!
Thank you for returning to planDisney for help with your upcoming November cruise. I know you can't wait to visit
Disney Castaway Cay on your vacation. Disney makes this day a highlight of the cruise with magical tropical vibes from the moment you step off the ship. I love all the unique
photo opportunities with the ship as the backdrop and the characters in their island attire. They are always some of my favorites.
Matthew, you can secure cabana rentals once your
booking window opens. Your
Castaway Cay status determines this date, or if you are sailing in a Concierge stateroom or suite. Concierge Guests' booking window opens first. With that said, cabanas are one of the most sought-after bookings when the window opens. You must be logged in to your Disney Cruise Line account on your assigned date at midnight EST to check for availability. It will be under "Port Adventures" on the day you'll be visiting Castaway Cay. If you don't have any luck, I always recommend continuing to check as often as you can, especially within the week before your cruise. Guests have until 3 days before the cruise departs to cancel plans online, so keep an eye on it! Fingers crossed you have success before embarkation day, but if not, feel free to visit either
Guest Services or the Port Adventure Desk as soon as you board to get on a wait list. There are three areas on the island where you'll find cabanas: the Sandcastle Cabanas on the Family Beach, Mickey and Minnie Cove Cabanas near Serenity Bay, and the Serenity Bay Cabanas (18+ only). The Family Cabanas accommodate up to 6 Guests (up to 10 for an additional fee) while the Serenity Bay Cabanas hold 4 (up to 10 for a fee). There are 2 Grand Cabanas on Castaway Cay, with 12 Guests included in the price and up to 16 Guests allowed for a fee. If you have any young sailors 0-2, they do not count towards the totals I shared above.
The good news about visiting Castaway Cay is that there is plenty of space to enjoy the sand, sun, and sea! You'll find loungers and beach chairs along with lots of colorful umbrellas and shade, along the shore. Cookies and Cookies Too will be your BBQ dining go-to on the island near the Family Beach areas, while Hanger 98 is located at the entrance to Serenity Bay for those 18+. You'll also find hammocks if you need a quick siesta on the beach. It's always a magical day!
We are so glad you have another voyage with Captains Mickey and Minnie on the horizon, Matthew. Please keep us posted with any other questions you may have about your November vacation.
