Hello, I am renewing my annual pass this month that expires next month and upgrading from the pixie dust pass. Can I start using the benefits now like going on the weekends or do I have to wait till next month?

Hi Jonathan and welcome to planDisney!

Being a Walt Disney World Passholder gives my family the flexibility to visit as often as possible and it's so easy to pop over since we live in the Sunshine State!  There are many annual passes to choose from for Florida residents, so it's nice to be able to pick the one that best works for you.

When you are renewing your Walt Disney World annual pass and changing your tier level, the new pass benefits do not start until your old pass expires and your new one begins, so you will not be able to start going on the weekends until your new pass is active.  Once you renew, you will see two annual passes in your ticket profile for your name and it will show your current one and your renewed pass as separate annual passes.  You'll have to wait just a little bit longer to enjoy those weekends at the parks.

Have you checked out EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival yet this year?  If you can make it during the weekdays, I highly recommend going then as the weekends get very crowded when there is a festival going on at EPCOT.  There are so many yummy offerings at the Global Marketplaces, so I love tasting my way around the "world".

Please stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.

    Have a magical day!
