Magic Key pass. Woohoo!
Oh, bother. I'm sorry to hear that you may have selected the wrong pass. I have good news and bad news, depending on whether you're hoping to upgrade or downgrade your Magic Key pass. Since I like to end on a high note, I'll share the unfortunate news first. Unfortunately, once Magic Key passes are purchased or renewed, they cannot be downgraded per the
Magic Key Terms and Conditions. On the bright side, if you're looking to
upgrade your pass, you can absolutely do that in the
Disneyland app once your new pass is active.
Open the app and tap the "☰" in the bottom right of the screen to open the menu. Next, tap "My Tickets and Passes" and find which Magic Key you'd like to upgrade. Tap the button to "Upgrade Magic Key" and follow the prompts until the upgrade is complete. Some things to keep in mind when upgrading a pass:
- You can only upgrade to passes that are currently available for sale. At the time of this writing, that includes the Inspire Key and the Believe Key.
- You will be required to pay the difference between your current pass and the upgraded pass in full at the time of upgrade.
- Your Magic Key will retain its current expiration date.

Norie, I'm hoping that your question falls into the second bucket that brings even more magic to your year. Being a Magic Key holder is so fun and I love all of the little pixie-dusted
extras that are sprinkled throughout the year. This week will be exciting with not one, but two exclusive Magic Key holder popcorn buckets making their debut in the parks. The Magic Key portal in the Disneyland app is a great place to stay updated on the latest and greatest offerings.
