Hello Kathleen!
I’m so glad you’ve found us here at planDisney! We are an experienced group of Disney fans and travelers who are here to lend our expertise to answer your trip planning questions! I was in this same situation when we had to cancel both a Walt Disney World and a Disneyland trip during the pandemic. When we finally got back to Walt Disney World it seemed like our whole family appreciated and felt the magic even more than before. And we’re hoping to make it to Disneyland this fall!
Most
Walt Disney World Theme Park Tickets sold before the pandemic had their expiration extended until September 26, 2021. This meant that those tickets could be used to book any theme park days that had availability, and there would not be any additional charges to use those tickets. Even though you have passed the expiration date of those tickets, the good news is that the value you paid for those tickets is still yours, and can be used toward the purchase of new theme park tickets. Unfortunately, this is not something that you can currently do online and
you will need to call ticketing who can look at your account and tickets. They will assist you in making any necessary changes and take your payment for any increased cost of your new tickets.
I know the hold times can be longer than typical, and I’ve experienced some pretty long hold times myself. I have found that calling either first thing in the morning, or later in the evening tend to work better. I like to use my mobile phone, and put it on speaker so I can listen to the Disney music while I get other things accomplished. I know you were hoping for a way to do it online, but I’m sending you all my pixie dust for a short hold time and a quick fix to your ticket situation.
Happy Planning!
