Can I renew my magic let the day ot expires?

Hi Melissa, and welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you’re wondering whether your Magic Key can be renewed on the day it expires. As a fellow Key holder, I completely understand wanting to keep that magic going without interruption, and I’m happy to walk you through the details.

The short answer is yes, you can renew your Magic Key on the day it expires. Renewal is available beginning 30 days prior to your expiration date and remains possible right up until the pass officially expires. Once that date passes, however, renewal is no longer an option. At that point, the only way to become a Magic Key Holder again is by purchasing a new Key when sales reopen to the public. For peace of mind, I usually recommend renewing a little early so you don’t run into any last-minute snags.

If you’re planning to renew, don’t forget to check out the Magic Key portal in the Disneyland app! Being a Key holder brings with it plenty of fun little perks sprinkled throughout the year. During Halloween Time, for example, you might stumble upon seasonal exclusives like the Kuzco Poison Sipper, straight from The Emperor’s New Groove. If you’re attending Oogie Boogie Bash, there are even more Key-specific treats in store, such as a collectible button set featuring Lock, Shock, and Barrel from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Of course, the year-round discounts on dining and merchandise are always a welcome bonus. It’s like a small dose of pixie dust every time you shop or snack.

And speaking of Oogie Boogie Bash, the event itself is packed with unforgettable experiences. Syndrome is bringing his flair for villainy to Pixar Pier this season, Maleficent is once again lighting up Grizzly Peak, and Villains Grove has transformed Redwood Creek Challenge Trail into an eerie wonderland. The glowing projections, swirling mist, and moody sound effects make it feel like stepping right into a storybook of Disney baddies. Q-tip: explore Villains Grove during the first parade for a more relaxed stroll.

Whenever you’re ready to renew, Melissa, know that the planDisney panel is here to help keep the magic flowing. Here’s to another year filled with Disney memories!

    Wishing you an enchanted day,
    David
