If I renew my annual pass a few days before it expire. Will the new expiration date be on the prior date of the old pass or the day I renewed my pass?

    Hi there, Yvonne and John!

From all of us at planDisney, a warm welcome to the both of you! It's a pleasure to see fellow Magic Key holders here and I hope you've enjoyed that year of magic that a Magic Key unlocks for you. I've been part of the program since it first began and I've really loved being able to return to the Disneyland Resort again and again.

As you know, your Magic Key renewal window begins 30 days before its expiration date. If you choose to renew your Magic Key, your old Magic Key will remain active until the expiration date. In fact, it will appear as if you have two Magic Keys in your Disney account! The new Key will take over once the old one expires and your new expiration date will be one year from that time. So essentially, your new expiration date can be expected to remain approximately the same from year to year no matter when you choose to renew your Magic Key within the renewal window.

Have you had a chance to visit the Magic Key Terrace yet? I love how it feels like a little hideaway for us Magic Key holders above the hustle and bustle of the Park. Be sure to follow the Magic Key Instagram account, too. I often hear of some wonderful offers and specials for Magic Key holders from them first.

Fun Fact: The Magic Key Terrace even has its own backstory! It is a hacienda that was recently purchased by a young couple who wanted to keep its old charm but add some contemporary elements, like the mural on the wall by Leslee Turnbull. One of Disneyland Resort's beloved feral cats, Nutmeg, was also incorporated into the design!

I hope that this response was helpful for you, Yvonn and John! It was my pleasure to help you and I hope you both visit planDisney again in the future. We'd love to hear from you and you're always welcome here! Until next time.

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
