Welcome to planDisney, Heather!
As a fellow
Magic Key holder, I know how important it is to plan ahead, especially when renewal time rolls around. I’m really glad you reached out, and I’m here to help.
Unfortunately, Magic Keys can’t be
renewed once they’ve expired. After that date passes, the only way to become a Magic Key holder again is by purchasing a new pass, but only when sales are open to the public. Right now, new Magic Key sales are paused, which makes the renewal window even more important to keep an eye on.
That said, there’s still a silver lining: you can renew your pass up to 30 days before your expiration date. Setting a little reminder for yourself might help ensure you don’t miss that window, especially if your calendar starts filling up with magical summer plans!
If you’re planning to renew, I highly recommend checking out the Magic Key portal in the
Disneyland app. It’s full of exclusive perks: think limited-time offers, collectible buttons (I’m still thinking about the ones from Disney California Adventure’s Lunar New Year celebration!), digital downloads, and even seasonal snacks just for Key holders. It’s a great way to stay connected to the magic between visits.
Speaking of magic, there’s a whole new wave of excitement arriving soon! Starting May 16, the Disneyland Resort will kick off its 70th anniversary celebration, and there’s so much to look forward to. Wondrous Journeys and Paint the Night will return to Disneyland, while over at "it’s a small world," a brand-new Tapestry of Happiness projection show will light up the night. Plus, Mickey and friends will lead a spirited cavalcade down Main Street, It will be a celebration that promises to make summer sparkle for guests of all ages.
If you have any more questions along the way, Heather, we’re always delighted to help you plan your next visit to The Happiest Place on Earth. You’re never alone when planning with planDisney!
Wishing you a pixie-dusted day,
David
