When I renew my annual pass do I get charged a deposit and the monthly fee like when I first bought the pass or am only charged the monthly fee?

Hey there, hi there, Michele! Welcome to planDisney. You've stopped by with a great question for us!

I hope you've enjoyed the past year as a Magic Key holder! I just renewed my Magic Key and a renewal is different than the original purchase. You will not have to put down a deposit for your renewal instead, you will just pay the first monthly payment. When you renew, you will also have the option to upgrade or downgrade your pass to another pass type or continue to keep the same pass type.

The next step will be to start planning your upcoming visits and make your reservations! I hope you have a trip planned soon to visit Lunar New Year, which is probably my favorite festival. The festival food is always so fun to experience. Then it will be time to sip and savor through California Adventure for the Guest-favorite Food & Wine Festival. This year, I think I am most excited for the 70th Anniversary Celebrations that will be kicking off in mid-May. My kiddos were pretty little when they last saw the "Paint the Night" parade and I hope I can get a visit in with them to experience it again.

Michele, thanks so much for stopping by! See you real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Carrie, California

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
