Hi Sarah!
Welcome to planDisney! It’s always nice to help a fellow Hoosier with a question! October is an ideal time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. The daytime temps are beginning to reach more comfortable levels, the Halloween decorations are up at Magic Kingdom, and the
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is in full swing!
With many Americans feeling safer about travel, and after a year of missed vacations, things in October are beginning to book. If you didn’t already have reservations, I would recommend you
make them soon and not wait, as availability is extremely tight already. Traditionally,
Disney’s Special Offers for the fall are released in the summer months. While the release times vary from year to year, generally late June to late July is when I would expect to see something offered for fall. Depending on demand, Special Offers may be very limited or possibly not offered at all. If a Special Offer is released for your dates, you can call Disney or your travel agent, and switch your reservations to the Special Offer if one comes along that works for your dates. I would be concerned that if you waited much longer to book, you might be shut out completely.
As your trip gets closer, Sarah, I hope you’ll come back to planDisney with more questions. We are here to help!
Happy Planning!
