Hi Kim!
Welcome to planDisney! It seems the Disney Parks are the place to be this holiday season. While the holidays truly are the most wonderful time of the year, they are even more magical at the
Disneyland Resort. You’ll find soaring trees, whimsical decorations, special events, and tasty treats! Cars Land is our absolute favorite with holiday decorations made from car parts, license plates, and even Route 66 signs!
With the holidays being so popular, and with the parks limiting attendance for safety reasons,
park reservations are quite full for all of December, and the first few days of January. At this time, since there are no available reservations, you would not be able to join your family in the parks. While it is always possible more reservations could be made available, I think that is unlikely. Then again, it never hurts to check back!
While the theme parks might not be accessible, you could consider joining them for a meal outside the parks. Shopping in the
Downtown Disney District does not require reservations! There are several wonderful dining choices in Downtown Disney to choose from, and some amazing restaurants within the hotels of the Disneyland Resort. While those typically require a dining reservation those are much easier to come by at this point than a theme park reservation. My family enjoyed the wonderful Mickey's Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet this past week at the
Storyteller’s Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. This is by far the best character breakfast my family has ever enjoyed and we have been to a lot of them. I highly recommend the experience. We also enjoyed dinner one evening at the
GCH Craftsman Bar. Try the nachos!
Kim, I’m sorry the theme parks are booked, but I wish your family a magical visit to the Disneyland Resort, and I hope perhaps you can join them for some family time outside the theme parks over the holidays.
Have a Magical Day!
