I just registered for the Star Wars Half Marathon next April in Disney World. I've never been to Disney World and am a bit overwhelmed. Where is the best place to stay??

    Hi Amy!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. With so many options to stay, places to eat and things to do I can understand why you may be a bit overwhelmed, but that's what we are here for!

Congratulations on signing up for the Star Wars Half Marathon- The Dark Side! I think you are going to have a wondEARful time and you may find yourself visiting Walt Disney World more frequently once you are hooked on runDisney! The first thing I recommend to folks when looking at places to stay is to consider your budget. Walt Disney World has a vast amount of options, but the great thing is they can accommodate any budget. At Walt Disney World, you'll find value, moderate and deluxe resorts. While pricing isn't available online right now for 2018 you can see what the rooms start at to give you an idea. Once you have an idea which category of Walt Disney World Resort hotels fits your plan it's much easier from there.

To search through the different categories, you'll want to visit the Walt Disney World Resort list and you can filter either based on Price Range or Resort Category. Once you have an idea of which category you'd like to stay at, look at the different themes and see if one sounds like you. If you decide to stay in a Moderate Resort and love all things Cajun, then Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is the obvious choice for you. The great thing about staying at any of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels is that all race weekend transportation is provided, so you really can't make a wrong choice. Once you have it narrowed down to a couple options, I'd give runDisney a call at 407-939-iRun and you can book your room! The earlier you book the better rate you'll have so I'd call as soon as possible!
