Hey, Nicole! I am so glad that I happened to see your question this evening. Believe it or not, this exact scenario happened to me three years ago! I had signed up to participate in the
runDisney Wine & Dine 10K with many of my fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelists, but other plans were at work for me and I ended up in the hospital having a hysterectomy on the day that I had planned to run. While I certainly would have rather enjoyed the
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival with my friends, I can honestly say addressing my health was a much better decision for that weekend.
Nicole, I encourage you to
give the Cast Members at runDisney a call to discuss your situation. They can be reached at (407) 939-iRUN, or (407) 939-4786, to discuss your specific issue and provide you with options. I am sure they can help you find a pixie-dusted solution as they did with me years ago. Please know that we are all sending you best wishes for a speedy recovery! I hope everything goes well for you and do take your doctor's advice to take it easy while healing! While I am sure you would love to get back to training for your next race, do give your body the time it needs to heal from this. Who knows, maybe you will be able to recover in time for another magical race with runDisney in the next year or two.
Thank you so much for stopping by and please let us know if you ever have any other questions!
Brandy
