How do I register my 9 year old for a RunDisney race? Do I have to make her a separate RunDisney account?

On your mark, Kelsey, and welcome to planDisney! How exciting that your daughter wants to participate in a runDisney event. There's nothing like watching the sunrise over Walt Disney World Resort as you run through the nearly-empty theme parks. I recently completed the 2022 Disney Wine & Dine 5K, and as soon as I crossed the finish line, the planDisney team met me with balloons and the news that I'd be joining this panel. I am now forever hooked on runDisney events! But let's see how to register your daughter for her first race.

I spoke to a friendly runDisney Cast Member who said you could register your daughter during the same transaction as your own. You will have the option to register another runner, and you will enter her information there. Although policies and registration procedures can change, you can typically specify if the runner is a child. You can use your contact information if you prefer, but your daughter does not need a separate runDisney account.

At nine, your daughter is eligible to register for any upcoming runDisney 5Ks, and after she turns 10, she will be able to continue her race career by completing a 10K. The sky is the limit, Kelsey! The next 5K will be during the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend. General registration for these races will open at 10:00 AM EST on June 20, 2023. The 5Ks typically fill up quickly, so my tip is to have all your information ready to register yourself and your daughter. Be sure to have emergency contact information, shirt sizes, and your payment method handy, and you'll be flying down the course in no time!

Thanks again for stopping by, Kelsey, and good luck with any upcoming races. Please stop by planDisney anytime. I'll be cheering you on!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
