In regards to shopping, is it better to shop at the souvenir shops in Downtown Disney than it is at the theme parks? Would the prices be a little better?

Hi, Janae!  I think you'll find that the prices are pretty much the same, whether you shop in the theme parks or at Downtown Disney.  There may be, however, merchandise at the theme parks that you won't be able to find at the stores in Downtown Disney, so you may want to consider that when you do your souvenir shopping.

Each of the theme parks has park exclusive merchandise, such as shirts, hats, jackets and things with the name of the park on them.  You'll also find plush toys that are themed with the parks, such as safari dressed Mickey and Minnie at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

If you're concerned about hauling everything around with you as you try to enjoy the parks, no worries!  You can use the Package Pick-up service that is available at the theme parks.  When you make your theme park purchases, you can tell them at the register that you'd like to use the package pick-up option.  They will ring you up at the register, then have you fill out a form, and your packages will be waiting for you at a specified location as you exit each theme park.  If you are a Walt Disney World resort guest, they can even have packages sent to your resort, where you can pick them up the next day at one of the shops inside your resort!  How convenient is that?

I think you'll find plenty of souvenir options at Downtown Disney, but if you see something in the parks you know you want, I'd purchase it when I see it.  With the convenience of package pick-up, it's better not to be disappointed!
