Hiya Vance! Welcome to planDisney!
Thanks for stopping by and submitting your question about your potential
Lightning Lane purchase. As you noticed on the Disney World site, UK guests can purchase Lightning Lane passes "upon arrival in the US" up to 7 days in advance if staying at a Disney Resort. So I can understand your concern over whether you will still see value... if many selections are no longer available once you arrive, and are able to make your purchase?
The good news is, you will be able to see exactly what the availability is before actually making your Lightning Lane purchase. In the
My Disney Experience app, from the home screen you will look for the Lightning Lane section with a button that says "Purchase". After selecting your date, Disney Park, and guests to include - it will then display a list of all available attractions. This step allows you to choose up to 3 Lightning Lane experiences for your party. If there is a popular experience you really wanted a Lightning Lane Pass for, that is showing up as "currently unavailable"... my suggestion would be to try another date. If your plans are flexible, this may help you secure passes for your favorite attractions.
From my family's experience I can share that particularly at parks with lots of attractions (like Magic Kingdom) we really feel like we get our money's worth out of Lightning Lane Multi Pass! I always advise friends to select at least one attraction with an early return time. Then as soon as you tap in to that first attraction... you can immediately log on to the app and grab another Lightning Lane pass. And those additional, same-day passes are not restricted by tiers, which is awesome! Using this method helps you save so much time standing in line, and really helps you pack more into your Disney Day.
I wish I could wave a magic wand and remove the "first arrive in the USA" restriction, Vance. But I do hope this helped? Please feel free to
send me a message at planDisney if I can answer anything else, or offer dining or park recommendations of any kind. I hope you have a wonderful holiday at Walt Disney World!
The magic is calling,
Tami
