Hi Sai!
Thanks for bringing your questions to us here at planDisney! Disney gift cards are a great way to save, and spend, monies at
Walt Disney World! You can plan ahead, like me, and save up gift cards well ahead of your vacation, or you can load up to one thousand dollars on each of your Disney gift cards. It definitely makes us feel better that we've saved in increments for a trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth!
Sai, should you find that you have a balance left on your gift card, unfortunately, you cannot transfer funds back to your account. If you have more than one card, you can register them on the
Disney gift card website, and then consolidate them. Be sure to keep the physical cards as well, in case something happens or there is a glitch. If you don't want to utilize a Disney gift card, you can try and set aside a certain amount in a 'vacation' fund of sorts. Then you would already have monies for your holiday, and not have to worry about dipping into household funds. Another option can be a Disney gift card that you preload as you go. You can add money to any Disney gift card at many registers throughout the
parks and
resorts. Once you come close to zero on the card, you simply add more funds, and carry on. This way, you can make sure that you don't use more than what you need. Also keep in mind that Disney gift cards do not expire, so any leftover monies can be used towards a new reservation.
Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!
