Hi Lara,
I hope you are having a magical day! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. I love talking all things Disney snacks, so let’s pop to it!
Purchasing a refillable popcorn bucket at
Walt Disney World Resort is one of the best ways to enjoy a classic Disney snack and save a kernel of money (to spend on more Mickey Mouse merchandise, of course!). And while I love the buttery and salty flavors, I understand the preference to have your popcorn without it, so I did a little research to see if that’s possible. Unfortunately, from what I have found, the popcorn you purchase at a food cart or kiosk will generally be of the buttered and salted variety. Lara, most if not
all the popcorn available around Walt Disney World is flavored in some way.
If your request is due to a special dietary need, you can ask the Cast Member where you are purchasing the popcorn (and at almost any food or beverage location) to see a list of ingredients for most items. I also encourage you to seek the assistance of a member of the
Guest Services team who specializes in dietary requests. Walt Disney World Resort Cast Members are well-versed in assisting Guests with dietary needs and are always to help!
Now, if unflavored popcorn is simply on your list of must-haves, one thought I have for you is to try one of the
retail locations in your resort hotel that sells food items. Oftentimes you will find individual packs of microwave popcorn available for purchase and there is usually a microwave available nearby. Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks and food items into the parks so you could fill your bucket with the popcorn of your choice.
Lara, did you know that January 19 is “National Popcorn Day” in the United States? Check out this fun
post from the Disney Parks Blog about ways Disney Parks have celebrated in the past!
I hope this information has been helpful to you, Lara. If you have any other Disney snack questions or other questions about your upcoming visit,
please pop back by to planDisney! Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
