In reference to shark reef, as an certified underwater photographer, would I be allowed to bring my personal underwater camera to this attraction?

Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon is a great place to get up close and personal with the wonders of the sea. I personally have taken a small underwater camera with me to Shark Reef and had no problems at all.

However, you should know that you are not allowed to linger at this attraction. Guests are required to swim straight through from one end of the reef to the other without stopping. Therefore, you would have a difficult time stopping to set up a shot or waiting for a particular fish to come into view. Also, guests must stay near the surface of the water, so you will not be able to dive down to get closer to the fish.

My suggestion to you would be to arrive at Shark Reef very early in the morning, before the crowds arrive. If there is a minimal line, there is some possibility that a sympathetic cast member might let you take a bit more time in the water. Similarly, if you were to go to Shark Reef on a chilly or overcast day, you might have a greater chance of spending more time in the water or making more trips through the attraction.

    Good luck!
