Hi there, Andrew!
It's so nice to see you here at planDisney with a question about
Fort Wilderness. My family is counting down the days until our stay at the Cabins, it's such a great place to create core memories!
At Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the heart of the fun is the Meadow Recreation Area - this is your go-to spot for a wide variety of activities! Nestled right between the Outpost Depot (where you’ll check in) and the Settlement area (home to the marina and dining spots like Trail’s End and
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue), the Meadow Recreation Area is easy to find and worth the visit.
This area is home to the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool, complete with a waterslide and splash area that's perfect for kids. Right next door is the
Meadow Trading Post, the perfect stop for snacks, souvenirs, and camping essentials. If you'd like to explore the area by bike, head to the nearby Bike Barn. You can also rent canoes, and even fishing gear here - there are so many ways to have a fun and slower-paced vacation!
While you're staying at Fort Wilderness, I highly recommend visiting
Tri-Circle-D Ranch to view the horses. You'll also discover Cinderella and Merida's trusted horse friends. If you have little ones, you can register for pony rides or even book a carriage ride! (Carriage rides are accepted on a limited basis and are subject to availability.)
My kids are most looking forward to
Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long, where families can roast marshmallows, sing along with familiar tunes, and meet Chip and Dale under the stars.
When you check in, ask a Cast Member for a copy of the resort schedule - it'll list all of the activities for the week so you can choose your favorites. No matter which activities you choose to enjoy, you'll be sure to have some great adventures and make memories!
Happy planning,
Candace
