Welcome back aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Shelly!
HOLD THE PHONE. It is almost time for your high seas adventure with Captain Mickey! Can you believe you will be setting sail in just a few days? I hope you've double checked your
packing lists and downloaded your
Disney Cruise Line App, it is time for your vacation!
I put my phone into retirement when we sail away, but my husband needs to stay connected for work. We contacted our carrier to determine if any of the islands of the Bahamas or Caribbean were included in our current plan and were pleasantly surprised to hear that many were!
Typically, we don't turn on
cell service unless we are in port now. If you do need to use cellular or internet service during your cruise, Disney Cruise Line does offer
internet and cellular service at sea for an additional fee. Cell phone services are available in your stateroom from most cell phone companies like AT&T and Sprint. My family uses Sprint and when we were near shore, we were able to get a signal when needed. We found it was easier though to keep connected with family via email using the internet packages available through Connect at Sea.
I would recommend you contact your current cell phone provider to determine if service is included in any of the ports you will be visiting and what usage rates and international roaming charges may be if you use your cellular service while at sea. This way if you need it, you know it is there for you. But I encourage you when possible to disconnect and enjoy your time onboard!
Call us back at the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any additional questions before your getaway, Shelly!
