Do you have a recommendation for going to only one water park? We have smaller children, and are looking for which one might be more kid-centric.

Hi, Lindsay! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel again. It is always great to hear from you :)

Both Disney's Blizzard Beach and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water parks have themed areas targeting younger Guests. Disney's Blizzard Beach has two main areas for kids, Tike’s Peak and Ski Patrol Training Camp. Tike's Peak is geared toward kids under 48" tall and has a snow-castle fountain, pop-up water jets and kid-sized slides in a shallow water area. Ski Patrol Training Camp is for slightly older kids who are under 60" tall and are not quite ready for the big slides. It includes inner-tube slides, a floating iceberg course and a zip line where children can grab a T-bar and zip out over the pool. In the zip line area, the water depth is eight feet, so you will want to be sure to keep a life jacket on your little ones. Disney's Typhoon Lagoon has a kid section called Ketchakiddee Creek that includes small scale slides, fun fountains, crawl tubes, waterfalls, a leaky tugboat and a mini rapids ride. These areas are great for little ones less than 48" tall.

While we do love both water parks, given the choice of going to only one, my younger #DisneyKid highly recommends Disney's Blizzard Beach. There seems to be more activities geared to the under 48" crowd at this park, enough to keep her busy all day, while not feeling like she is missing out on the fun slides her big sister is enjoying. She also loves that she can roam around Tike's Peak without a life jacket, just like the big kids.

No matter which Disney water park you choose, I am sure you and your family will have a splashtastic vacation at Walt Disney World Resort. Stop by again if more questions come swimming along, Lindsay!
