    Would you recommend the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show for a mature 8 year old boy or would there be a different dinner show that you would recommend?

    Hi Jennifer,

    For an 8-year-old boy I would strongly suggest the Hoop Dee Doo Revue rather than the Spirit of Aloha Luau. The entertainment portion of the luau is primarily Polynesian dancing. I took my mature daughters to the luau when they were about eight. They were very much into dance at the time and even then they found the show to be quite repetitive. And honestly, I think there is MUCH better food elsewhere at WDW.

    In contrast, the Hoop Dee Doo Revue is much more varied. There are plenty of jokes that are perfect for elementary age kids, there's audience participation, classic American music, and just a plain old good time. My kids love it, I love it, my parents love it. We go back every year. And the chicken and ribs are amazing. The choice is quite clear to me.
