Can you recommend non character/non park restuarants that have family fun sit down dining incoroporated in them - I hear Whispering Canyon is fun. Any others like that?

    Jen,

Whispering Canyon Cafe (Wilderness Lodge) is one of my favorites in this category. No characters, though the servers certainly are characters! The food is very good on top of that.

Another option would be 'Ohana (Polynesian Resort). It is a character meal at breakfast, but at dinner it is not. There is an entertainer who teaches the kids songs and dances, but in a very low-key way, so fun, but not overwhelming.

I find Beaches and Cream (Beach Club) to also be a lot of fun. It has that Soda Shop vibe, and the staff is fun but again not so over the top that you are driven crazy.

Many like T-Rex (Downtown Disney) and Rainforest Cafe (Downtown Disney and Animal Kingdom Park - outside park entrance). Though they are not my favorites, they have a lot of atmosphere.

A final solution that I like is going to Boma (Animal Kingdom Lodge). The restaurant itself does not necessarily have entertainment fun, but the setting has a fun exotic feel, and being able to visit the animal viewing areas before and after is cool. Especially at night!

Please feel free to write me back directly if you want any other suggestions!

    Have a magical vacation!
