Hey Layla, welcome to planDisney!
My family loves the
Fireworks Cruises, so I’m excited for the opportunity to help you plan one for your upcoming vacation!
My recommendations depend on which Disney Resort your cruise is departing from. I also have young kids a similar age, so in my experience, we dine at the Resort before we get on the boat because then we can make sure we’re at the marina on time with no additional commute needed. My kids, like many others, can go through picky eating phases, so we prefer the buffet options where everyone can find something to enjoy. If you want your kids to visit with characters before the fireworks cruise, there are also several character dining options available at the Magic Kingdom Resorts. Now, let’s go through some of my favorites!
At
Disney’s Contemporary Resort,
Chef Mickey’s is a popular buffet with appearances by Mickey and his friends. If you’re looking for something a little quieter,
Steakhouse 71 is another fantastic restaurant. I highly recommend the 15-layer Steakhouse 71 Signature Chocolate Cake!
If your cruise begins at
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort,
Kona Café has a wide range of items on the menu, from sushi rolls to a Big Kahuna Burger. But
‘Ohana dinner might be one of my all-time favorite Disney Resort dining options. I can’t get enough of the grilled chicken and ‘Ohana noodles, followed up with the ‘Ohana Bread Pudding served with ice cream and caramel sauce! Yum!
Over at
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort,
1900 Park Fare is another buffet option with characters. At this time, Aladdin, Cinderella, Mirabel, and Princess Tiana will visit your table while you eat. In my opinion, these characters are perfect for meeting before seeing Happily Ever After. During the fireworks, you will hear songs from their movies, and they’re all known for making their wishes come true which is what
Happily Ever After is all about! Also at the Grand Floridian is
Citricos, which is where my family dined before our most recent fireworks cruise. I devoured my Guava-barbecued Short Ribs and my husband and I shared the Profiterole Trio as a sweet treat to end the meal.
I think I gave you a lot of options to consider, Layla! There are even
more restaurants at the Magic Kingdom Resorts to choose from if these don’t meet your needs. Your Fireworks Cruise will include some treats and water and soft drinks, so there will be some food to snack on during the fireworks. I hope you enjoy your magical fireworks cruise! Please
come back to see me at planDisney if you have any more questions!
Reach out and find your happily ever after,
Kaitlin
