Hi Maureen!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! With the introduction of Walt Disney World’s new Annual Passes, there are definitely a lot of good questions on this topic. We are also Annual Passholders and I just bought my daughter her first Annual Pass!
If your Annual Pass was a renewal, and therefore does not need to be activated, it will not include the PhotoPass Photo perks. When your pass is up for renewal again next year, you will be offered the new Platinum Pass at that time. If you would like the PhotoPass Photos from your upcoming vacation, you have a few options. Your first option is to purchase
Memory Maker for your trip, just like you would have planned before the changes took place. I would recommend buying your Memory Maker in advance, as this method offers Guests a discount. Currently, purchasing in advance allows you to buy Memory Maker for $169. Another option would be to try to upgrade your annual pass to the new Platinum Annual Pass. The price to upgrade may be a better deal than purchasing Memory Maker separately. I would call to see if this is would be an option for you at (407) 560-PASS or (407) 560-7277.
I hope this helps you to figure out the best plan for you and your family. We have always enjoyed purchasing Memory Maker for our PhotoPass Photos. When the vacation is over, I enjoy creating a photo book with our vacation memories to enjoy for years to come!
Have a Magical Day!
