    I recently ordered magic bands for our upcoming trip. Now my daughter would like to trade with me. Can we do that? Is there a way to reassign a magic band to someone else on your reservation?

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Mary!

    MagicBands are one of my favorite “tech items” Walt Disney World Resort uses to enhance Guests’ experiences during their visit. Unfortunately, once the Magic has been assigned to a Guest in My Disney Experience, it cannot be transferred to another person.

    If your daughter has her heart set on a particular MagicBand, you can always try to purchase it for her through shopDisney.com or at one of the many shops at Walt Disney World Resort. My daughter and I like to coordinate our outfits with our MagicBands whenever we visit, and we do have a couple of matching MagicBands, too. If you’ve received MagicBands with your Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservation, they’ll be customized with each person’s name. Ones purchased through shopDisney.com or in a Walt Disney World Resort shop cannot be personalized, but you can order custom MagicBands from some shops like the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. at Magic Kingdom Park or the Celebrity 5 & 10 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

    Hopefully these options will help you decide whether or not you and your daughter can have matching MagicBands even though you can’t trade them.
