I recently had gastric bypass surgery and cannot eat a lot of food at one sitting. Can I share an entre with my mom at table service dining and use only one table service credit? I don't plan on going to buffets or family style.

    Hello there Julie,

Welcome to planDisney! How exciting that you are planning all the magical details for a Disney vacation this Fall. Sounds like you'll have a Disney Dining Plan included in your vacation package, which is a wonderful addition. My family really enjoys the Dining Plan, it feels like we reserve and enjoy more awesome, delicious dining locations that way!

Will your mom also be included on your same Vacation Package reservation and Disney Dining Plan? If so, then yes - splitting an entree may work out well for you. Of course, there are no guarantees as it will be up to the individual restaurant if they can accommodate your request. But the Dining Plan is generally pretty flexible. Your best bet for sharing will be when dining at a Table Service location with a standard menu. I recommend mentioning to your server right away that you'd like to order one entree to split, and just use one Table Service entitlement from your Dining Plan. Exceptions would include when dining at a buffet, pre-fix family dining, or character dining situation... where they charge meal entitlements for each guest. Please note any extra entitlements you end up with can only be used by guests staying as part of your same reservation.

Each guest on the Disney Dining Plan will receive one resort-refillable mug, so be sure to swing by your Disney Resort's quick service cafeteria upon arrival and pick up yours up right away! I absolutely love using my mug for both coffee and soda refills during our vacation. Woo hoo!

No matter what, I know you'll enjoy the magical dining that awaits you, Julie! Please visit us again at planDisney if we can help with any dining recommendations or other planning tips.

    Have a magical day!
    Tami
