We recently found out that we are expecting our first child and would like to announce during our extended family trip to Disney that we are expecting. Any suggestions on making the announcement special? Our first day in the parks will be at MK.

    Congratulations, Jessi!

I am so excited for you! While I am done having little ones, I dearly miss the days of expecting a tiny Mouseketeer.

There are so many ways to announce your pregnancy, and what a magical announcement it will be!

I agree that an announcement on your first day in the Magic Kingdom will be such a special surprise, and set a magical tone for the rest of the trip.

When I announced my pregnancy in the Magic Kingdom, I snuck into the hat shop on Main Street, U.S.A. and had some infant Mickey Mouse Ears embroidered with "Baby." I then asked my loved ones to take a photograph with us.

You can get custom ears at Box Office Gifts, which is located on your right as soon as you walk into Main Street, U.S.A. My favorite thing about our announcement was bringing the ears back to the Magic Kingdom for baby's first trip. They made for some adorable photos.

You can do the same thing with a custom printed shirt that you then reveal to your family on your trip. Some cute Disney sayings that come to mind are "there was something there that wasn't there before" or "Snacking for Two."

You could also pose for a photo with a custom-made onesie that you bring with you.

If you already know if you are having a boy or girl, you can also pose for some great photos with either a pink or blue Mickey Mouse balloon in front of the castle.

If possible, be sure to track down a PhotoPass Photographer so that you can capture everyone's expression. Also stop by any store and pick up an "I'm Celebrating" pin.

For a more private setting for your pregnancy reveal, head over to the Wishing Well to the right of Cinderella Castle. You will get a gorgeous backdrop for photos, and perhaps you can even make a wish that has already come true.

Jessi, most importantly, take care of yourself and your little one in the heat. Remember to stay hydrated and rest when you need to.

    Congratulations again!
