We received passes & are planning to arrive on Christmas day. We're using hotel points @ Marriott so we can afford a couple more days admission. I'm having trouble finding character meal reservations 4 Christmas week! Any chance there's open seating as

Hi Angi! A Walt Disney World vacation is such an awesome Christmas gift! The holidays are a popular time to visit Disney, and for that reason, the character meals tend to book up several months in advance. However, last-minute reservations can and do become available, especially now that Disney has instituted a cancellation policy. (For many character meals, guests must cancel at least one day in advance or they'll incur a $10 per person fee.)

I recommend that you continue to check each day to see if reservations have become available at the character meals. Be flexible with regard to time, and search for a meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) rather than searching for a specific dining time. If your party is willing to dine at separate tables, search for availability for two small tables rather than one big one. Once you arrive at Walt Disney World, call 407-WDW-DINE or stop by Guest Services to check for last-minute openings due to cancellations. Also, it doesn't hurt to walk up to the restaurant to check for availability. Often a restaurant can work you in if you're willing to wait or if you show up at a non-peak dining time, such as when the restaurant opens or in the last hour before service for a particular meal ends. If you're persistent, you'll have a good chance of scoring a character meal reservation.

Wishing you a magical Christmas vacation! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We'd love to help!
